I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington and am licensed as a Psychologist by the State of Washington (#897). My treatment orientation is psychodynamic Psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on understanding and working with emotional and behavioral patterns that cause difficulty. These patterns often repeat themselves in important relationships, including the relationship with the psychotherapist.
Psychotherapy may also involve remembering unpleasant things and can arouse intense feelings. The benefits of psychotherapy may be being able to cope better with the original problems and with relationships and, therefore, being able to experience more satisfaction. Another benefit may be a better understanding of personal goals and values.
